Oh, boy, mama is so touched about the news that the longtime White House pastry chef, Mr. Yosses, is going off to New York to teach kids about healthy food and eating habits.  She’s always happy when adult anthros take time to teach their kids how to enjoy food and not think of it as coming from a snack machine or a plastic package or as an ememy of the tummy!  My gelée is about as fresh as you can get from a package, but kids don’t really get Purina snacks often…

Mr. Yosses has created magnificent desserts for kings and leaders of state—a special chocolate malted milk concoction for Monsieur Hollande and a delicate  phyllo strudel for Angela Merkel, for example—and gives much credit to Michelle Obama for directing the White House desserts kitchen to a new path: fewer rich ingredients and more fruit and grains on the dessert menu.

If anyone can change direction easily, it is Mr. Yosses, but he is not giving up those rich ingredients completely.   They will still be part of his repertoire, only in smaller amounts but he says, “I do not wish to demonize butter, sugar, cream and eggs.”

Mr. Yosses will also be reunited with his husband in New York, a sweet occasion since they have been living in separate cities due to their jobs since their marriage 11 years go.  Hey, it’s not easy to put away your pots and pans at the White House!  I mean, that place is not just any old eatery…

Well, this kitty is all for the cream and butter part!  Remember when mama came downstairs one morning and found her little square of butter turned into a ball?  Now who on earth would do that, I ask you?

Who, me?

I think he must have found a butter pat, too…
