Mama read me that Officer Matthew Kenny shot 19-year-old Anthony Robinson dead in an apartment in Madison, Wisconsin “after a scuffle.”

When are these police officers going to be trained to not be so trigger-happy, and who is going to find out why they are there in the first place if they don’t have any solution other than KILLING a kid to solve the problem.

Anthony Robinson was unarmed. He was also black.

Even I, a lowly kitty, has to question how these shootings happen, and too frequently.  Is killing the alleged perpetrator the only solution?

Everyone in the neighborhood said the kid was very well-liked and wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Officer Kenny, on the other hand, some years ago, shot and killed a man who was pointing a pellet gun at him during an incident. He was acquitted. Papa says that if a suspect points whatever it is, a gun, a facsimile, anything that looks like a gun, at a policeman, he has to act. It may be dark, it may be a real weapon, etc. and you can’t mess around with that.

And there were mulitple shots fired at this kid. For heaven’s sake, if the officer was not threatened with a gun or any other weapon by this kid, why on earth would an officer fire ‘multiple shots’ at all? Perhaps he just can’t shoot straight, and if so, why is he an officer?

This kitty thinks that there has to be more education for police officers concerning incidents that are not threatening but still need to be handled. Guns are the last resort, in my view.

Thank heaven I’m a kitty. These anthros really know how to screw up.

Why do these things happen so often?  I’m very sad.
