Okay, okay, it’s not that great. But have YOU ever tried to take a selfie with a PAW?
I’m getting better at this so bear with me. What is this ‘selfie’ thing anyway? Everyone out on the street is taking a selfie or selfies of two or more people and they all look as if they are peering through a large fish bowl, and you know what THAT looks like.
Also, I wouldn’t dream of peering through a fish bowl if someone were on the other side just because of my vanity! I like to present a bella figura at all times.
Well, actually, depends on if a fish were in the bowl…
Now, speaking of a bella figura, mama didn’t really know what that meant when she first visited Italy. She thought it was just looking good, dressing nicely, being together instead of sloppy or messy, which it is, but it is also setting a nice table when you have guests or cleaning up the house properly and putting flowers around and so on for gatherings or serving lovely foods to guests or maybe even just ignoring an insult and smiling sweetly at the idiot who delivered it.
But it can also be used the way I have heard mama use it in private when she botches something or drops water all over the floor from a tipping vase or even better, when she once entered a party (dressed to kill in 6-inch heels she was not yet used to) and tripped over the threshold of the door, thereby stumbling frantically to keep her balance while all the people in the room turned to stare at her entrance. “Che bella figura,” one might say with irony, gazing upon this spectacle.
(There she goes; oh, boy…)
When mama did this years ago, her best friend, already in the party group, said loudly, “Ah, here comes Miz Grace!” And it brought a laugh. Which is all that matters anyway because it didn’t bother mama at all.
As long as you don’t fall on your face, it sort of puts people at ease, no? But if I had been there I could have said, “Maybe she needs Loulou lessons in dramatic entries.”
We kitties know how to enter and leave without ANYONE even knowing. Now that’s a bella figura.

Not only good at tripping, but sometimes good a losing things….but this was a fluke. She looks pretty good in my collar, I have to say.
