Hard to argue or be radical from a warm duvet…

Well, do they really attract?  Opposites?  Are we talking here about irresistible forces and unmovable objects, or what?  You see, mama has a good friend in the faraway land of Alabama and they have much in common and yet they do not see eye to eye on many political issues.

Actually this happens here, too, with a friend who is radically against gay marriage and many other things I won’t go into having to do with race and religion and more, but they are still friends and talk about other things–her grandanthros, her work, anything but politics and social issues.  But they’ll never be very close because of the many ideologies on which they differ so strongly.  Still, one has to try…

I think we can be friends with those who think completely opposite to our views, on some level.  Not everyone is alike, and not everyone has had the same kind of family or education or mama or papa or advantages or disadvantages and yes, in their hearts, many may very well be more similar than we imagine.

I have many doggy friends, for example.

But getting into political differences can take up most of a day and often, much wasted energy because neither side’s ideas are getting to the other!

As for me, I’d rather be in my garden, or on my duvet, snoozing and dreaming of world peace, or maybe lapping up that bowl of cream that mama will most certainly NOT be giving me any time soon.

Talk about differences!!!  I’m LIVING them!

CREAM! CREAM!

No response.  You see what I have to put up with…
