YAY. Maple leaves, forever.

Well, after the burkini debaucle, here is really good news from Canada.  You’d think that the people who are trying to ban the burkini in France would have better things to do with their time.

M. Hollande is not long for his office anyway and he’ll certainly not be re-elected.

The wonderful news is that in central Italy they are finding more and more people alive under the rubble, and that’s uplifting for us all.  Let’s hope there are more and more each day.

Mama lived in Canada when she was little and went to school there and sang “God Save The Queen” each morning and swam in icy waters of the Bow and Elbow rivers (yes, those are their names!) and ate delicious fish and chips and had a doll from a 10-cent store that she adored for years until it fell apart and in winter, she wore heavy parkas and went up into the snow near Banff and Lake Louise, some of the prettiest country in N. America and had a best friend name Sylvie.  Every year in Calgary there was a celebration called The Stampede, and every year the Blackfoot Indians of the region could come to it free, but one year the council started charging the Indians a fee to come and so they did a rain dance and the Stampede was under water for the whole week!!!   I love stories like that.  The Indians, after all, were performing artists for the Stampede and were certainly not used to fees for THEIR presence.  All the streets were mud and the horses got stuck and there was a BIG damper on tourism.  Moral: Do not be an Indian giver, haha.

I hope this burkini thing is settled pretty soon so that everyone can get back to REAL problems of the world.

As for me, I’m pondering them now.
