You can get ’em almost anywhere…

Well, a very poignant blog called It’s Noodle has put out a plea for us to try to get our government to make gun laws that will stick so that anthros will stop killing themselves and others and since mama has just come back from two states in which guns are advertised and sold and traded EVERYWHERE, she has asked me to give my views on the ownership of guns.

Here are my questions:

How does one know who is a looney and who is not?

How does one control anyone who really has an intention of killing another with a gun?

There will be black market sales of guns if they are not available legally and killers will continue to buy them somewhere from unethical people.

What are your views on how to go about gun control laws–what do/should they say, how are they enforced, will they deter?  I certainly hope so, but sometimes I think, Loulou, don’t hold your breath.  Many members of mama’s family all hunt deer and quail season in Texas and Mexico, but she gave up her shotgun years and years ago and HATES guns.  Still, hunters are hunters and that’s their choice–the deer have to be culled out or they die of hunger and disease when they proliferate so incredibly fast.  A terrible death, but how do you protect them on reserves where they will multiply without control and then suffer the consequences of having no food to sustain the herds?

These are serious questions, but the most important for me, Loulou, is how can we stop our United States of America citizens from murdering anyone they wish, anytime they wish, on live television, in the streets, in violent homes, and how can we keep our children safe from idiotic parents who keep guns in their houses without any education themselves of how to use them, lock them up,  or teach their kids to keep away from them?

Mama grew up with guns in Texas but was horrified on her latest trip to see gun sales everywhere, anytime, any kind of gun and so easy to get.

What a world!

My heart hurts for the ignorance of so many people.

I’m resting my heart.
