Dance of the Hours

JUST WHO IS IN CHARGE HERE?

Well, mama has just informed me that we are about to lose an hour in our otherwise normal days.  WHAT EXACTLY DOES SHE MEAN, lose an hour?  How can you lose something that doesn’t really exist except on clocks and watches and kitchen ovens?

Mama says that when I wake up on Sunday at my usual 7am, I will have LOST a whole 60 minutes of my LIFE!

Something to do with daylight savings.  Whatever that is!  You can’t save daylight– are they out of their minds, the people who regulate this?  What do they have–a daylight bank where daylight is kept locked up until they need it?  This is the biggest boondoggle of the year, in my book.

ARGGGGH.  I don’t like this at all, and I think I had better start NOW to go looking for it!!! And I’m taking a BIG jar to put it in so it can’t be lost again.

I’m outta here.

I had PLANS for that hour, okay?

UGH – Mama told me the same thing!! Does that mean we lose a MEAL? Hope that hour lost is not dinner-time! People do the strangest things. Getting ready for my “princess role” today – mama points at my painting and then at me and Albi (my toy at the expo) and people oooh and ahhh; They’re gawking at photos of YOUR paintings mama has displayed. We’re princess stars!!!

We lost that hour a few weeks ago. We’re still looking for it.

Don’t worry, Loulou, you’ll get that hour back next fall. We lost our hour several weeks ago.

What is even more puzzling is that you people in Europe don’t begin to save the daylight until a month after we in the USA do. It takes 8 minutes for the light from the Sun to reach Earth, so why does it take several weeks to cross the Atlantic Ocean ? Or does it have to do with resetting all those stone circles ?
