HEY, mama, turn that up! 🎶

Well, mama loves the day after Christmas, which is Santo Stefano in Italy and everywhere else, too, but  here we still are in Rome until tomorrow so it’s in Italian for us.

Because mama loves The Feast of Stephen day, I’m putting in a link to her favorite carol, which always brings tears and warmth thoughts because of the lovely story it tells.  The kindness of  the king (from Bohemia–mama’s grandmother’s country long ago) and the sweetness of the story are so important in this often fraught season.

I was subjected…er…listened politely to a gazillion versions (all free on YouTube) of Good King Wenceslas this morning, but we liked this one best because of the page and his lovely voice.

However, mama and I are curious about the trrrrillling of the ‘rs’ that some singers feel necessary to do with some lyrics.  Maybe sounds a bit more serious, more English, more formal?

But even with trills, we do love that music.

And, of course, it is clear that the Feast of Stephen means more kibble and that special stew made of turkey and ham and stuff, right?

Wrong, Loulou…well, maybe kibble, but you’ll have to catch the turkey and piggy…
