See, what a skillful surgeon can do?

Now I know I am absolutely NOT qualified to talk about this because of, you know, that thing they do to kitties at the vet that let’s them live a healthier life and so on, but I thought it was time to address the “fixing” of animals in general.

Mama and papa are not exactly fanatics about sterilization, but they do think, both of them, that with all the kitties and doggies in the world, it’s best to do one’s part in trying to keep extra animals out of harm’s way, off the streets, out of dog and kitty pounds and closer to homes where they are safe and loved.

Plus, it’s just irresponsible to let your male animals wander around doing their THING to other animals who have not solicited their attention. Of course, it’s the owners who have to make these decisions, and if there is a market for a one-time shot at puppies or kitties and they can be given (or sold, as some do with special animals)  to people who love them, so be it.

For me, it was a good decision to be child-free.

I came to mama and papa with equipment that was not properly dealt with, and so if I had become preggers, for example, I would have probably suffered a miscarriage and harmed my health, or worse.  So mama and papa had me examined and operated upon and that was that.

It’s a lot like having children and having so many when you don’t have the means to take care of them and there is no question that they suffer terribly from hunger, disease and often a short life span when they have come into a world that does not provide for them.

Alas—it all comes back to education and choice, both of which are sorely missing in so many parts of the world. And I have seen photos and videos of kitties and doggies who suffer from not having good homes, good vets and loving anthros.

There an SPCA in Houston, Texas for stray or mistreated animals and they do not turn away ANY animal and they have adoption programs for any kind of animal and when I heard about it, I felt so much better that there are large organizations to take care of the “accidents” in the animal world, not to mention animals who are rescued from those cruel anthros that seem to be accidents themselves!!!

I have a little kitty savings account and I’m going to send them a little something so that maybe I can help another kitty have a better life.

Animals aren’t people, after all, but sometimes I wonder if maybe they are both in the same boat on this subject of to have or have not, so to speak.

But it’s anthros who can make the changes, if they only would…
