Hey, I can practice, can’t I?  Maybe I’ll be in the next World Cup.

Well, mama says it’s really fun being out in the streets during the World Cup, the games shown on every TV in every bar or pub in Roma, and when Mexico beat Germany, mama and papa ran into a sweet crowd of young Mexicans singing victory songs and everyone yelled VIVA, MEXICO and more.  It’s like a big party in the streets of Rome in summer.  Even if you don’t know anyone, everyone has a sense of comradeship and sharing the lovely summer evenings.  Doggies run in the piazza della Minerva (mama says there is a dog-walker there every evening with FOUR doggies all playing and chasing things and getting along) and little kids are on bicycles and tricycles and sometimes little kids play a bit of soccer, slamming their goals against the walls of the convent behind the famous Bernini elephant.

Uh, oh, Croatia has just scored against Argentina, team of the famous player, Messi, and I’m sure he’s not feeling all that good about this.  When I watch soccer with mama and papa, I love watching him, and it’s one of the things I miss with them not here.

Boo hoo, I’m not watching the World Cup!  Maybe I could record some of the games when my kitty sitter is asleep and watch them the next day.

But all alone!  Oh, sadness.

Still, it would have been fun to see Mexico beat Germany.  Together.

It’s not that I don’t like Germany, but I do love Mexico.  And I’m so glad all those little kids will be with their parents again.

I think goalie will suit me just fine!

By the way, today, after the first day of summer yesterday, papa is going into a six-month funk as the days get shorter.  Not literally, he is much happier after the winter one!
