See that guy in the corner.  He is REALLY going to miss me without having me to keep him warm at night.

See this?  Guess what IT is?

Well, not exactly the wizard, but THEY are going to be off to see mama’s 100-year-old (well, in November) auntie and then papa’s sister and then mama’s sis-in-law and her musical partner so I guess you could call it a family affair.

No wizards that I know of.  But wait! Every family has a wizard of some sort, right?  I think most are kitty-wizards, since we know how to transform one thing into another without anyone knowing how we did it (the curtains, for example, or a screen door, or a package of goodies hidden away), and we also know how to click our paws together and say, “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.”

Hey, piece o’ cake.

BUT…I digress.  THEY are off to see whatever wizards they find and LEAVE ME WITH Miss Kitty Whisperer, whom I ADORE–YOU HEAR THAT, YOU PEOPLE.  I ADORE HER AND SHE PLAYS WITH ME AND GIVES ME TREATS AND CARESSES AND LET’S ME STAY OUT LATE!!!

Maybe I’ll just have to hang out with my friend in the garden.  He comes every year and lives in the rosemary and he is a good spider who eats mosquitoes and things bad for the plants.  Isn’t he beautiful?

Still…I’m a little bit lonesome already.  But that’s nothing.  You should see mama…now THAT’S lonesome.

She doesn’t want to stop snuggling me.  She’s telling me this, but I’m taking it with a grain of salt.

If she really wanted to BE here, she WOULD.  No, that’s not really how it works sometimes, but I wish it did.
