Time to relax

Well, I’ve been thinkin’…What if, for one whole week, we shut our computers, turned off our cell phones, and had to entertain OURSELVES?

I don’t know, the thought just occurred to me while I was thinking about my blogging and how much fun it is and how many nice anthros and doggies and kitties one meets (hello, Funny Farm—watch out for that mop!) and how interesting the content is of so many lives, but…

What if we just kicked back and took a walk and tried to name some of the plants in the woods or even just took a walk in a city and looked in a gallery we’ve never been in or stopped for a coffee in a shop we’ve never seen or just said hello to someone on the street, just for the heckofit?

Or maybe just sit in a chair in a nice spot we like and gaze at life from there.

But to his credit, mama’s little 8-year-old step-grandanthro was visiting once and was sitting out on the terrace in a chair just looking off into space and mama asked Pepe what are you doing and he answered Well, sometimes I just like to sit and think.

I do that all the time.

Just about all day, actually.

Between naps.

I’ve noticed that adolescent anthros around me pull out their cell phones at every opportunity and start checking their emails or texting god knows what to whom and don’t even look out the window from a car trip at the amazing mountains passing by or the miles of peach trees or the road next to the autoroute, the Domitia, where Caesar marched his troops through France to Spain to conquer even more land and Hannibal marched his elephants at a later date.

Hey, I’m in the car, too, very often, and I LOOK OUT THE WINDOW and think about these things.

Like, did Caesar have a kitty?

Sometimes I just sit and tell myself jokes and laugh my head off…
