Well, they’re taking me back to France.

I am hoping for a smooth sail this time so I won’t throw up all over mama like last time.

I’ve managed to paw through the art catalogues that papa buys when they go to art exhibits here in Rome, and I really loved the Tiziano show at the Quirinale, but oh, boy, there was a doozy (doozie?) today at the Museum of Modern Art that was a lot of still life things on tables and flowers in vases and stuff and those colors just aren’t my cup of milk. Boring, boring…except for a few Morandis that were pretty nice. Mama tried to copy one once and gave up after two weeks, so I know he’s good. Really good.

Then there was a Japanese exhibit from the time when they went ‘modern’ and frankly, I’d just like to stick to gazing at Hokosai and his views of Mount Fuji—I could look at those for days, but I have to say that there were a couple of tigers with a cub that could make your fur stand on end! To think, I’m related to those dudes. Whoa…they both had a set of pearly whites that could make you think twice about petting them, the tigers, I mean, not the teeth.

I’m hoping they’ll bring home a catalogue of the Cubist show because I also like the Picatso (that’s a play on words, not a swear word in Italian) painting of Dora Mar au Chat (see above) but I can’t seem to find the chat anywhere! I think I need to work on my art appreciation…
