Downpour

Oh, boy, was mama wet when she came home. She looked like a drowned rat, haha!

I know, that’s not very nice, but she did. After a lovely magical meeting and lunch with her friend, Gabriella (who happens to be papa’s ex and who is loved very much by mama and papa alike), the deluge started. Thank heaven I was home curled up and snoozing with papa as we sometimes do after lunch for a little break in life’s hectic pace, but mama was out there, stranded, no taxis, intermittent trams and buses that appeared to go in the opposite direction from where she wanted to go.

So, umbrella streaming and lightning ripping up the sky and water flooding many parts of Rome, mama called Gab who saved her from saturation and drove her to a cab stop where they waited ten minutes until ONE and one only showed up.

By then everything was wet and the weather knob was turned to colder and mama came home, put her feet in hot water, drank hot water (no time for tea) and jumped in the sack with me to keep her warm (also papa) and I let her know that I was a bit worried even though kitties aren’t supposed to have a lot of emotions, and I stretched out my paws and rubbed mama and gave her a little bath and she thought, “Oh, Loulou, what a kitty, you knew I was having a hard afternoon—you are so, so smart.”

Here I am keeping her bed warm and ready.

Is that mama finally coming in the door?

And then I felt a little guilty because what I was saying with all that attention I gave her was,

“FEED ME.”

Oh, well, I got some points on that one…
