Thankful For Birdies

Mar 20, 2025 | 22 comments

And not just any birdies!

These birdies live at a marvelous restaurant/vineyard/winery near our little village and they are spectaular peepers and hooters. Mama and papa were there with a dear friend and those peacocks really let out some weird sqawks and the little rooster with feathered feet was truly a joy to watch.

But the TURKEY spread his feathers and mama said it was the first time she had ever seen a turkey do that LIVE…only in cartoons, haha.

I am kind of glad I wasn’t there….it was best seeing it from you know where! Those birdies made me think of….dinner….

And as always, we are thankful for YOU.

But NOT FOR THIS: Unbelievable….how many will suffer?

  • Education Department: President Trump plans to sign an executive order on Thursday instructing Education Secretary Linda McMahon to begin dismantling the agency, according to two White House officials. The department cannot be closed without the approval of Congress, which created it. But the Trump administration has already taken steps to narrow the agency’s authority and significantly cut its work force while telegraphing its plans to try to shutter.

Those are some real interesting looking birdies! We have wild turkeys around here and they will open up all their feathers. It’s cool to see! ~Murphy

Interesting place to see the BIG BIRDS doing their thing. Peacocks have amazing “screams” and if you’re not used to hearing it, you think someone is dying! LOL

I love all those beautiful birds, Loulou. It’s Human Rights Day in SA today. It feels even more poignant this year. “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” Nelson Mandela

The birds are amazing and these are impressive.

As for education, most people I talk to want a lot of local control and oversight, which can be accomplished without the wholesale shuttering of a department.

You don’t want a peacock near you…they are raucous!! And so are guinea fowl..though both are beautiful to see!
We sometimes see wild turkeys ‘displaying’ for their hens! And when they do that they strut around as though they own all they can see! Fun to watch!

Enjoy your farm and winery!! Cheers!

Glad that those birds at the winery are not potentially on the menu – like lobsters in the tank. Peacocks scream like they are being murdered ; not conducive to relaxing dining if you weren’t aware of that when you sat down.

Everyone wet to school s everyone thins they know more abut how to run the schools than the teachers. This attitude has been around for years, but is getting a real boost now.
