NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY

A special blog for today.  The title says it all.

Please register, obtain a ballot, find transportation to your voting place and vote!  The Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, is in jeopardy, and if it is taken away, we will not have medical insurance for preexisting medical conditions.  Mama says that we may not have medical insurance at all, because for years there has been a promise of a new plan, a new program for giving everyone in the USA affordable medical insurance, and guess what?

THERE IS NO PLAN.

Mama is asking, “Have you heard of or seen this fictitious affordable plan for your health?”

No one has. When questioned, not one person in the present government had seen any plan for affordable medical care for all.  Ever.

If a government wants to dismantle something that works really, really well for the people, it had better have something of value with which to replace the one that works.  And the one that works is only going to get better when we finally have responsible leadership.

Vote for climate change.  Vote to stop our mistreatment of nature that is affecting our country-melting icecaps, raising water levels, killing land and sea life and making the air unsafe to breathe.

Ten years ago, China began to go green and is now the leader in climate change.  We must not be left behind.

And the plans for new industries to go clean and green will also create jobs, the  repair of infrastructure will create jobs, and leadership that wants every American to have work, to have shelter, to have food on the table is the kind of leadership we must have.

Vote for your childrens’ future, their health, their education, their well-being.

This pandemic needs cooperation to lose its hold on our lives.  Not dissension and divisiveness.  Not lies and empty promises that have not materialized.

This is the most important election we have ever faced.  It is only acting together that our country will prosper and heal.

Since I’m a cat I can’t vote, but I did get called for jury duty once. You should have heard the Dad trying to explain that I’m a cat. The Mom and Dad always vote, always. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

This is the most important election…..and healthcare is SO important indeed. My Mom and Dad have Medicare and a healthcare supplement which was provided in the terms of my Dad’s retirement from his employer so they are covered – period. We wish that was the case for everyone. Clean air – well – we just HAVE TO STOP ignoring the fact we have to be more careful and conscious of taking care of this planet of ours. It is telling us in so many ways that we MUST WAKE UP! We are waiting for the election to bring CHANGE.

Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam

Well, Mamma and Papa have carte vitales, something the US (the only first-world nation that doesn’t have affordable healthcare for all) – and that’s why Mamma left! Being self-employed, her insurance cost a fortune and when her parents died, they were wiped out (with Medicare and Blue Cross!). That was the breaking point. And I’ll bet it’s even worse. Biden’s not very progressive – but he’s a LOT better than Trump and Mamma has asked twice for voting registration – she will call today to find out why she hasn’t gotten it yet!

No, I’ve heard that hospitals often charge WAY beyond what Medicare and additional insurance pays. There was an article in the NYTimes about that recently. I was hoping – but no. Anyway – just got back from the dentist and COVERED by my Carte Vitale! It ws SUCH a good move!!!! And besides, they wouldn’t have adopted ME if Mamma had stayed in New Orleans!!!
