Let’s hear it for Edgar Juarez who demanded his legal minimum wage increase at Hummus Kitchen (where he works often 10 hours a day) and was told by his employer that if he didn’t like his salary, he could quit. “There are lots of other dishwashers out there,” said his bullying boss. And guess what? Edgar got his increase and is joined by others in a movement to sue for back wages.
Hurrah for anthros like Mr. Juarez!!!
I, for one, like to get full pay for the work I do around here, and when they cut my kibble, I am VERBAL! Well, myowal, whatever that is.
I love stories about–pardon the expression–underdogs who stand up on their back feet and yowl. And I hope more workers are aware that the minimum wage increase instigated by the government was long, long overdue.
Mama and papa know the work that employees do for a company and the minimum wage laws must be complied with by every employer in the US, whether he or she likes it or not.
Now, why is my kibble bowl half empty?
