Merci For Friends

Apr 3, 2025 | 18 comments

Mama just thought you might like to see a little focaccia.

Well, mama is feeling lately that friendship and kind and caring people are just about the best strength she has against this monster who is about to disrupt your Social Security, your voting rights and so much more to come…Thank you for bearing with us as we rant and rave!

And thank heaven for this brave Senator. Twenty-four hours of brilliance and bravery.

So many people now are holding Town Halls in red states and on campuses and aa a part of religious gatherings and they are talking to neighbors and friends and families and the butcher, baker, and candlestick maker, whomever will listen for two minutes, because their country and freedom are at stake.

Even if you are a blue dot in a red area, make friends with your neighbors. You have much more in common right now that you ever have.

The Trump/Musk dangers include ALL Americans!

We are so thankful for you, yet again, and on every day, not just Thursdays, haha.

Feel free to rant. I am very political by nature and non-MAGA! And of course The Mews agree with all my political thoughts. 🙂

Your point about neighbors, I’ve been saying this for many years. We do have more in common and need to talk, to brainstorm, to come up with good ideas which will work to help all of us along together. It’s called bipartisanship and it can work and it doesn’t involve both sides screaming, “We’re the only ones who are right, you have to do it our way no matter what!”

That seems to be all I hear from both sides, and it makes me sad because we all have good ideas, at least some of them, and bad ideas, too, and if we work together, maybe we can figure out the best and use them. The screaming at each other would need to stop and become what you’ve said, all of us talking with each other.

It could work, we’d have to want it enough to make it work.

Complete agreement from me! I live in a red state though there’s alot more blue here than those outside the region realize. Still, I’m often careful on social media because things can be scary. I’ve been more open lately and it’s always the red friends who come to argue with me; I never go to their pages to argue … Hmmm. Or, they cut me off completely. I do think it’s important to remain friends when possible, as you say. I have friends I go way back with and care for dearly, on the other side. I stay astonished that they continue to support the red viewpoints, no matter what.
