Well, let’s hear it for LOVE!!!
Happy Valentine’s to everyone today and always. Mama and papa were married on this day and so we have pretty sweet celebrations around here on the 14th…Happy Socks for papa from me, with kitties on them, a beautiful hanky (whatever that is) with little flowers embroidered on it for mama and papa’s promise to take mama on a trip to frame her favorite drawing in an exotic foreign place (read: Figueres, Spain, 1/2 an hour away!) and of course, I’m sure they have surprises for me LATER in the day, saving all good things until last.
As for today’s news, a neighbor called to ask mama to call the donkeys’ handler, saying that they had gotten loose from their fence and were in the garden of the apartments where she lives, and they were munching on the flowers and about to begin on the shortest trees. Mama called Luc, their owner, and he rushed over with his two sheep dogs to herd them back into their field behind the fence.
Lot of excitement around here, no? So that’s it for Valentine’s Day news.

Couldn’t the neighbor call Luc herself?
She is 84 and has no idea how to call Luc, barely knows him except that he is the Donkey Keeper. Mama has his cell because she feeds them when they are penned nearby. Photos to come…
All is clear.
We have a one here and my neighbor friend Marie-Jeanne enjoys taking her little great-daughters to see him and feed him his favourite grass.
Sometimes he is at the far end of the field so she has to call him. And so she does, in donkey talk. When I am around I join her, although I can’t beat her. Her braying is first class.
The girls have fun.
Mama ADORES these donks. Today’s blog says it all….
hehheh – well the donkeys didn’t get a valentine’s day gift so they went for flowers and didn’t know they weren’t supposed to be eaten, LOL – but hope they didn’t have an upset tummy. And the neighbor will have an interesting story to tell!
Tell mama to go to the fish market in Figueres when they go to have the drawing framed!! We miss that! Used to go with an ice chest and bring it back full – for freezing. YUMMMM. Well, that’s the dog in me – always thinking abut food.
YES FISH and CLAMS for spaghetti….YAY. They WILL go this time on a Thursday when the open market is…er…open.
