But it is very hard for me to see our country abandon our allies around the world, abandon the brave and democratic soldiers and inhabitants of Ukraine who have fought for three years against Russia and Putrin’s insanity. And we hope the many countries who stand beside Zelensky will come to his aid. As a major journalist recently said, “If Putin cannot win a war in three years with his army and resources, he has lost!”
Our hearts go out to the Ukrainians and so many others who are suffering because of Trump’s cuts in aid to some of the more needy areas of our world. And the withdrawal of aid to many areas in the USA who desperately need restructuring after major disasters, tornadoes, floods, fires. He has cut it all.
You might not believe the actions Trump has take to destroy OUR country. But he has taken them.

Well, we certainly didn’t either but there is hope because the constituents of the Republican party are getting upset about their liberties being mishandled and consumer confidence in the US is the lowest since 2021!!! GOOD NEWS. So many strong orgs are fighting back, and T and Musk aren’t getting along that well either. AND Europe is getting stronger to eliminate him from their plans. YAY YAY.
We “feel” it all……it makes our hearts heavy which is the last thing we expected to feel as we grow older and try to make our last years happy. But we HAVE learned that there’s one thing you can totally count on – and that is that you can’t count on ANYTHING. You make your way day by day, however you can, and in your heart you hope for the best for the world. That’s just how we survive…………….

All wonderful and we do much of the same, dear Pam and David. It is true that we certainly could not count on having a sane president and leader of the free world! But when he and his cronies are supressing FREE SPEECH and womem’s rights and so much, much more, it is terrifying sometimes. He is now allowing ONLY journalist who are on his side to come to his press conferences. Can you imagine that? Thank you, and we are with you about being shocked that our later years would be governed this way….$#@!! But we have each other and that’s a HUGE plus.

TBT: I’m from the US and I agree with you completely. I don’t want to get TOO political here, but the Trump Administration is doing VERY stupid things. Democracy is important. And the best allies are NOT authoritarian (as Trump seems to think). President Macron really put Trump down at their recent meeting and I’m glad he did…
Merci, Mark, and please read today’s Heather Cox Richardson piece on what Musk and Trump are doing to our economy and how they are harming those Americans who need rational government programs the most. There is NO consideration for the working class of our country and great harm in the medical, science, climate, education, and welfare areas, not to mention so many other areas that will suffer because of greed in the government.
You stay. I am very, very concerned about the state of our world.
