Mama put this photo in because she thought it looked as if I have groundhog fur! Really, mama!!! I think I’ll overlook that view….

Well, mama isn’t sure you can call a fantastic full moon a treat, but WOW, was that Snow Moon a lovely piece of nature in our cold night sky! Mama’s cloud/moon pic looks as if there was snow around Mr Moon!

No snow here and temps rising, yay, yay, yay.
And we did have crepes for Candelmas.

CrΓͺpes, fruits de mer
Mama made a bechamel with 1 T butter and 1 T flour and then added broth from shrimp shells and heads that she keeps on hand for things like this, haha.
Then added 1 cup of scallops and shrimps, cut fine, and then a dash of Cognac and a pinch of saffron, a squeeze of lemon and 2 T cream and simmered all just until shrimp turned pink. Mama let that cool and filled each crepe down the middle with a bit of sauce, folded the ends over and rolled the crepe to seal it. Then it was laid in a baking dish with 3 others and the rest of the sauce was spread on top. The crepes baked in a hot oven for 15 minutes and then were served with a salad.
As mama’s head baker in their bread business used to say, “MUY RICO!” And they are. Maybe once a year is about all it takes with these rich crepes! And papa likes his with brown sugar and Grand Marnier…those were dessert.
Now on to Valentine’s Day…oh, boy, I think mama is making PINK PASTA…well, you can’t beet that, haha.

What a lovely pic, Loulou and I see why your mama says that about your fur. Your mama’s food always looks good.
It actually tastes pretty good too, haha. Mama loves so to cook and create new tastes. I enjoyed quite a few when there…
Super cute Loulou picture and love the moon pic too! Yay for no snow and warmer pics!
Merci, Leah, yes, a lovely moon for a few nights now…
The moon was amazing! But it’s still very cold here. Next week might be better.
Oh, we brrrrrr with you, Mr Murph and Cheeto.
Oh, we are brrrrrr-ing with you two!
Well, I would love the crepes with brown sugar or *Stroop*, all rolled up…but I think I would have only eaten the salad, because I do NOT like shrimp at all…LOL! (nor crab or lobster, either. I do enjoy a few varieties of fish, i baked some orange roughy the other day, just added some lemon pepper to it.)
Oh, your food budget is so happy. Mama LOVES shellfish…but also orange roughy! And all fish.
There’s nothing like making your own stock, is there, to bring up the flavor of everything. The crepes sound so tasty and pink pasta is a new one on me.
Well, mama invented pink pasta for her anniversary but maybe someone else did it too. Haven’t heard of anyone doing it but mama.
Nice shot of the moon. You don’t look like a groundhog at all. I love the pink pasta idea for Valentine’s Day. XO
It also tastes really good if you like beets, but very subtle. Merci on moon shot.
All those recipes sound delicious and the pictures of you and the moon are wonderful too !
Merci, Ms Mary!!!
Yummy. I’m coming over.
Have a purrfect day and week. β₯
We’d love to have you!
Yummy stuff, I’m hungry again!
Brian’s Home ~ Forever
Go for it. You can make crepes for sure!
We loved how the snow moon lit up the heavy snow/ice in all the yards around here – it looked quite magical even if it was impossible to walk on. It’s wonderful your Mama can make such delicious “treats” to enjoy !
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Oh, she’s a wild woman in the kitchen and has such FUN.
