(Thank you, Yahoo)

How wonderful that Malaysia has decided to allow a large boatload of immigrants into the country and strive to rehabilitate them.

Would that others would follow their lead. The photographs of the immigrants show them to be so thin, so poor, and the conditions on immigrant ships are, as we all know, terrible.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has said his country will conduct search and rescue missions for Rohingya migrant boats in the Andaman Sea. (BBC News)

Rohingya Muslims (and so many others) have been persecuted for years and years and over the last three years, 120.000 have attempted to leave their homes behind.

Why can’t different religions live together? Once again, I am so irked that so many religions preach goodness and kindness and tolerance and yet never seem to practice what they preach.

Then again, mama has just admitted to herself, after much soul-searching, that she is not one to turn the other cheek easily, especially when someone is mean to a friend of hers or to her (rare) without cause. Some anthros are just mean even though we’d like to believe that there is goodness in everyone. Don’t mess with Texans is what I think she is saying. Or at least without good reason!

Mama thinks that kind behavior generates more kind behavior in which case the Malaysians are very good to reach out to these boat people. Imagine how it must feel to be persecuted and fearful of survival every day of your life and then feel suddenly safe and hopeful after so many years.

Maybe it’s like how I felt when I found my home after being in the wild…

It felt good, that’s for sure.
