Gardening just simply wears me out.

Well, maybe not sage as in “wise” sage, but certainly sage as in flowers and bees.  The bees have sucked the sage flowers dry but their busy work may help to have that lovely flavor end up in honey on someone’s toast.

Now it’s time to construct the tomato supports, mama says.  Papa does the holes, mama does the lashing, and this year, she will weave soft lines between the poles on which the tomatoes can rest their branches.

She thinks.  Evidently gardeners have been doing this for years so it must work!

So glad you could smell the bread baking all over France yesterday, haha. Mama is making baguettes today as a late celebration of that ubiquitous loaf, whatever that means. I think it means that every household in France eats a baguette a day 🥖! Bon appetit…

…with sage honey on your slices.
