Mama, I’m taking care of the garden while you’re away…don’t worry!
*****
Mince, we have had NO internet since mama and papa arrived here a few days ago and so I had the problem of getting my mama’s blog out to you all and therefore there were none!
Haven’t mastered that internet thing from up here yet…
Now mama is working through her iPhone to her computer with a cord and can send out thanks to all of you who are so patient and understanding about this predicament!
Merci!
We’ll be back in business tomorrow, THEY SAY, because they are supposed to fix something like this in 48 hours and it has been MORE than that already….welcome to Italy.
But on a happier note, the weather is incredibly warm and lovely, sun pouring into the apartment and so many spring veggies in the markets: artichokes, a vegetable called agretti, which is truly one of the best ever (see photo), lovely long serpent squash from Sicily, pumpkin-shaped tomatoes that are firm and sweet, Amalfi lemons, and thank heaven those are here because we left 200 lemons in the garage that had just been picked!!! The neighbors will benefit, that’s for sure…our housesitter is doling out a few at a time for friends and there will be some when we return. Note the use of ‘we’….
I do have to help mama and papa out, as you know, but did NOT pick lemons, haha. Just oversaw!
Thanks for your support and for following along with our foibles…whatever those are…
A little irreverant, here is a friend’s favorite Easter cartoon:

Photo of agretti, with a taste between green beans and well, green beans, as it is hard to describe the taste…mama has been trying for years.

Mama steams them in a little water with salt, drains and puts a bit of olive oil and lemon over all….FULL of vitamins!
We’llm…uh…mama will be back (finally) tomorrow!

Glad that your mama and papa are enjoying nice weather while they are gone. Hopefully those internet problems will be in the past soon.
HEY THEY ARE IN THE PAST. Finally. Merci.
Yum, that looks delicious, Loulou. Like bean spaghetti.
Bean spaghetti???? Have to look that one up. Oh, I get it, green bean flavor. Thought mama had posted pasta fagioli, spaghetti with canellini beans!
Love that bunny cartoon!!! Glad you’re getting “communication issues” sorted but just relax and enjoy the sun. That’s the MOST important anyway!
Hugs, Pam
Merci, Ms Teddy’s mamma. Or rather, grazie.
It’s lovely to hear from you, sorry about the internet problems and hooray for lots of fresh vegetables in the market.
Mama finally has internet, thanks for your patience.
Glad the weather is good. I wish I could try those beans. XO
Well, they TASTE like green beans but are very fine-stalked vegetables that are so tender and full of vitamins. They grow in the ditches around the artichoke farms.
We are glad to see you back LouLou. We thought Mama & Papa were traveling and you were Guardian-Angeling them.

Papa is so smart…he is the one who hooked up a cord from iPhone to computer.
Haha, on that bunny-funny!
Glad you will soon get internet, but using your phone as a hotspot is what we do here too when the internet conks out…thankfully not very often!
Enjoy your trip, and those green bean wannabes look yummy!
You would LOVE them, they are tender in 2 minutes and easy to eat in mouthfuls and have a BIG vitamin count. Mama thinks they are why Italians are so healthy, haha
