Uh, oh, I think there is a sliver of something up there!

Well, there is something about a tiny crescent of silver in the spring sky that just makes my heart go pity-pat.  Does that happen to you?  We all go out to see the new moon from the garden, NOT through the window, because that is bad luck and heaven knows what will happen to you if you accidentally see the moon through any window or glass!

WHEW, SAFE, THIS TIME!

I think I mentioned this before but in case you have forgotten, you must take the anthro, who saw the new moon through glass, outdoors and turn him/her around three times and then turn the opposite direction three times—  better to be near a chair or low wall or something like just in case your friend falls over!

Complicated, no?  And the following is from a brilliant blog by Dennis Simanaitissays simanaitissays.com:

In Devonshire, it’s said that, upon seeing the first new moon of the year, you should remove a stocking and run across a field. Then, between your big toe and the next, you’ll find a hair that’ll reveal the color of your true love’s hair.

Which mama loved, but then she said, “Wait a minute, what if he or she is bald?”

Ah, well, I think that’s it for new moon lore…

Mama says there was something in her childhood called a Moon Pie.  Hmmm….now THAT sounds promising!Résultat de recherche d'images pour "free image of a moon pie"
