Do you believe in karma?

I’m sorry, I had to use this title again because it seemed so appropriate.  There are so many stories about African (and other) animals being hunted down and killed for their ivory or horns but every now and then, stories emerge that, somehow, seem to be pure, unadulterated karma.

Well, how about this one?

Recently, scientists have said that they will bring back the entire population of the white rhino, using the sperm from poor, departed Sudan.  Wouldn’t that be amazing?

And I have to admit that I’m not really very happy about anyone getting attacked and eaten by lions, and the very poor men, with families, who poach are paid very little to mutilate elephants and rhinos for the very rich investors who hire them.  But they are poachers. They know the law.

Still…

This is a hard one, moralistically speaking, whatever that is.

But mama couldn’t help thinking that somewhere, somehow, you sometimes get what you give.  Maybe the bigwigs who profit from hiring poachers will go out there next time and try THEIR hand at it.  At dinnertime.

Maybe that’s why I don’t hunt anything…hmmm.

Ho, hum.

It’s sad that there are humans that create the demand for the killing of nature’s wild beasties for profit. They should be ashamed of themselves. Someday maybe justice will catch up to them. A kitty can hope. Hugs.

You’re right, Loulou…it’s karma. Guess those poachers won’t be poaching anymore.

teehee – I think the lions had a meal filled with fibre – nothing was left but shoes and gloves! Maybe a skull. Mama says she believes in karma – and hunting to kill on a protected game reserve? Well. Bon Appétit.

This is super interesting, I actually didn’t know a lot of it. Hopefully we can figure out how to keep the circle of life strong <3

I thought when I first saw this story in the news yesterday it was about an old news story since we remember reading about lions eating one or more poachers quite a while back, but maybe not. it does seem like karma, but poachers will keep killing. 🙁

Hmm…lions and rhinos…apparently the “web of life” is more interconnected than we can imagine. Hopefully no lions will now be hunted as”maneaters.”

I have to admit that a hunter or poacher who meets a grizzly end by animal fits my concept of karma. I’m not sure about bringing back extinct animals. Humans have destroyed so much habitat.
