My first hula lesson…not sure I have the hang of it yet…

Well, mama loved finding an old Hawaiian saying the other morning: If you want to dance the hula, leave your inhibitions at home, which is easily translated into so many things. If you’re going to make a go of it, go at it all the way, without worrying about how it looks or what anyone thinks.
Mama learned a couple of hula steps once but would love to really be able to do the hula. Does anyone out there hula? She’s going to try out the YouTube lesson…

Ha ha, a Mexican friend who is an incredible dancer told mama to just stand in one place and bend each knee one after the other and that’s the beginning of lots of dances, especially the rumba. You can stand in one place!

Well, she’s not in Hawaii but her friend up the street can show her the moves because her family is there.
I would love to see the real hawaii sometime…and watch the ladies dance the hula! I can’t even make the hula-hoop dance, LOL!
