Loulou, we’re not going to wash you, don’t  worry.

Well, years ago, mama was thrilled when a hunter friend left a couple of wild ducks on the doorstep.

“Oh, I’ll clean them, don’t worry,” she said to the gift-giver, and boiled a duck-sized pot of water.

In went the ducks, and OUT POPPED THE  DUCKS, over and over.

So this is exactly what happened yesterday when mama came home from her first visit to the (empty!) little market in our village.  Everything, including pillow-packed lettuces, went into the bath of soapy water and guess what popped out just like a duck?

But, hey, you have to wash everything, even vacuum-packed bags of lettuce!  I had a ball watching  her struggle with the lettuces…so FUNNY.

And remember that cartons and cardboard have to wait somewhere for 2 days before safe.

Wash everything else in soapy water as you sing Happy Birthday…

So many unusual things coming out of this change in the world.  Like having to walk your turtle (photo thanks to my aunty Barbara in Sonoma.

But I think this is the route I should  take.  Talk about a cool puppy! Thank you,  Mya’s mama.

Mama, why do you think ducks don’t sink?

DUH!
