Dressed to Tickle

Hey, maybe next time, dress up like a doggy and enter the parade, haha!

Well, Mya’s mama from New Orleans just sent this to us, and I don’t know of anything similar around here, but it certainly looks like fun!  Maybe we should start a festival and parade like that here.

A doggy parade with its family dressed to the nines, too, and then the queen or king crowned at the end.

Why are these sweet parades so charming?  And do those doggies (and kitties, if they have that sort of thing for us) have a good time being dressed up and competing?  I think they do.  All the doggies I know are show-offs, haha.  Today, the guy with the beagle, who used our parking area for his private bidet (!)–the beagle, not the guy, haha–was strolling down our street and he, I am sure, purposely avoided mama.

Because when WE got back from Roma last time, we learned that our kind neighbors had patrolled our parking area each day, picking up the beagle’s ‘calling card’ and spraying with Doggy-Off or whatever it is one sprays with to dissuade wandering doggies from…er…stopping, and these neighbors said they were pretty sure it was the poor little beagle.  Who doesn’t know any better.  BUT HIS OWNER DOES!

Well, the beagle is so cute he might win a contest in a parade, even if his owner is not as cute, haha.

I could dress him up myself and take him to New Orleans and maybe come back ‘kinged’.

Do you think I should drop the owner a little sweet note?  Or maybe just visit his front porch?

I am always baffled by the need to dress up cats and dogs. Only a few really enjoy it. Super stars like Summer at Sparklecat look gorgeous but mostly MEH!

Oh and the beagle. Not stupid but see if the owner left their brain by the side of the parking space some time.

Oh, Loulou – you would NOT enjoy Barkus, but Pepper and Rosie (mama’s doggies) had their own wardrobe for Barkus (name-play on the big Bacchus parade) and every year they had a theme. One year it was horror shows, so we went as The Addams Family. Another was the Titanic and we went with friends who had a yorkie and they had a wagon that we decorated s a ship and made a sign – bark-tenders on the Titanic – Drink till you sink! I found Pepper and Rosie little shirts and bow-ties at Wal-mart (for kids), empty beer cans aboard and it was a hoot! Our last Barkus before moving to France. It was the BEST of Mardi Gras!!! Wish they would do that here so I could wear a costume.

I don’t know what to think of the New Orleans parade.

Regarding the Beagle’s owner,it reminds me of a neighbour of mine who lets her dog, Pacha, an Anatolian shepherd, wander around the village and drop “calling cards” everywhere.

One day, a fed up neighbour picked up the “card” from his doorstep and deposited it on hers.

She made an awful fuss, feeling shocked, insulted and so on. Even the mayor and his registered letters could not bring her to behave and, of course, some people put the blame on poor Pacha.

So, good luck with the Beagle’s owner. You might give him a pack of plastic bags. Would he get the message?

Sounds like a good idea! I could ride in my stroller and show those doggies that I am not afraid of them. Of course if they are nice doggies I will show my softer side and ask them to escort me.

But, alas, I live in Oregon, not New Orleans. Maybe there will still be a parade like that here. One can only hope! (And hope my mommy gets up off the couch to participate)

It’s Pet Gear. There is a number on it 09T-1522008. That might be the serial number or model number,

It is really for small dogs I think. It is lightweight polyester and folds up easily (sometimes too easily as I try to carry her up the stairs). She takes it all in stride and this is just me learning how to carry it. There are brakes on it in case you stop to visit and are on a hill. It’s a great starter stroller – around $45 US.

The Gen-7 strollers are used by the experienced riders like Summer at Sparklecat.com or Cupcake at catsgoingplaces.com.

But I think it’s best to start out with a simple stroller to see if your cat will like it before spending hundreds on a fancier one.

Sorry I didn’t give you the full rundown before. I think I got it from Chewy.com or amazon.com.

Please subscribe as we would love your company!
