Barnyard Bravos and Neigh Sayers

I had better not hear complaints about MEOWS, you get my drift?

Well, you know those cock-a-doodle-doos and cicada hummings and early morning peepings of spring birdies and hair-raising hee-haws of donkeys and rigget-rigget croaks of pond frogs?  You know those sounds, right?

WELL, NOW THEY ARE, BY LAW, LEGAL IN FRANCE.

And now those city slickers who moved to the country during Covid-19 or who just decided to change their lives from the hustle bustle of metropolitan life to the sweet calm of the country will have to think twice about complaints to their neighbors (who were there LONG before the slickers came in) about any “disturbing” noises they feel should be squelched.

Love the French.  And what is country life without a baah or a bray or a neigh or a squeak or a bark or a hiss or a cackle or a hoot or a nice welcome-to-the-morning crowing, I ask you?

Janine Marsh, who writes France, The Good Life, has made us see and feel the sweetness of barnyard birds…

And that awful resident who did such a bad deed should have been tarred and feathered with the poor rooster, that’s how WE feel!

And to think some dodo would complain about THESE guys!

Whenever we hear about those complaints it irks us, no, it IRKS us! When Dad was a nipper our neighbor had chickens and the Rooster would crow every morning. At first Dad was a bit put out but he came to like the morning Crowing and look forward to his wake up call

Yes indeed – there ARE all kinds of asses in the barnyard and everywhere else as well! Poor Marcel….what a terrible thing to do to a guy who was just being what he was and behaving like any rooster would. Anyway, I hope you have a day full of GREAT sounds…….like “Want a treat Loulou??????”

Hugs, Teddy

Hi Loulou, merci for the mention for The Good Life France – my human says thank you too! She was a city slicker herself but now she looks after me and my 5 brothers and sisters and says she loves the sound of the countryside, especially the cockerels! Love from Tigger the kitten…

Quire right, Loulou! It’s my favourite thing to sit with a cup of coffee, and listen to the birds chirp away in the park in the morning. They’re too sweet. Some people are truly strange.

We miss those sounds!!! LOVE the sound of animals – except the Pesta Rossa who hates me and barks like crazy when I come near! PLUS, I have a “boyfriend” in the building – a black schnauzer who wants to follow me! He’s old, like me – and we really like each other! And the little dog next door who plays with me. All we hear are birds on our walk. Would be nice to hear other animals – like YOU, Loulou!!!

I would think animal noises would be nicer to hear than cars and honking horns in the city.

Hee! Hee! THAT happened in our village (in the middle of nowhere). City slickers moved in and wanted the village to ban chickens being kept in the village (they did not like the rooster crowing) and they wanted the farmer (whose land which was not in the village) to stop his cows from hollering – they even complained about the coyotes (they thought they were village dogs)!! It got so bad, they wanted it put it on the ballot for the next municipal election! The chicken and cow and coyote haters LOST, and they got so mad, they moved! We are totally on the side of FRANCE! Have a marvellously Happy Day!
