Going over memories on  Memorial Day

Well, I think we should put all of the workers who strive to get us safely in and out of hospitals and out of danger from COVID-19 and all workers in general in our memory banks forever.

Along with, of course, the veterans who served their country so well and so long.  May they all find good health and places to live and food to eat during this crisis.

So many are homeless and on the streets in the USA.

We are (alas – drool) not having the ritual barbecue as most are enjoying in the USA.

But we have a risotto later and it is a quiet and beautiful day here, full of sun and warm stepping stones, and I just wanted to put in sweet stories about positive things.

Here is one

You know that every now and then I really have to take my…er…hat, ears, (?) off to special doggies.  And this one is amazing.

And included in the hats-off category is this lovely man who saved, of all things, a stork.  We don’t have many of those around here, I’m pretty sure, but how pleasant it would be to have a sweet  family on the roof!

On second thought, I’m not sure we want any babies at this late  date, haha…

Happy Memorial Day to you and your family, Loulou. What a sweet man, saving that beautiful stork from horrid hunters.

LOL – nope, no babies now!!! Every evening for the past three or so weeks we have been clapping at 8PM for the healthcare workers, many who put their lives on the line to care for the sick. The little yorkie in the building next door who hates me, barks (I call her la pesta rossa), then another couple bark – and I do TOO!! We make a lot of noise. Then it stops and we close our windows. It’s vey moving to see all the neighbors be so thankful for the workers – and there are posters around town thanking them. It’s good.

We will always remember our heroes each and every day, and this year we have more.

Those stories were great ! The stork seems to have very good manners, especially for such a large bird.
I bet the other kids in that little girl’s class love that dog too !
