Hospital-ity

(Papa, I’ll look at your scar later, okay?)

Well, the only drawback to papa’s very successful stay at the clinic was…you guessed it…the FOOD.  Some was unrecognizable.  I think they had a dinner chef and a lunch chef.  The lunch one won.

And we’re in FRANCE!

To be honest, it was only the dinners – the lunches came from the very nice cafeteria and were edible and healthy, but oh, the dinners.  And mama had ordered hers along with papa for the first evening, but when a bowl of water with tomato flavoring arrived, she ran to the cafeteria to get sandwiches!!! (Delicious)

Still, what lovely nurses and doctors – so caring, so attentive, always smiling and ready to help, mama says, even in the middle of the night (which is when you need them after a surgery).  Mama was on a camp cot but very comfortable and pretended she was a kid again…haha, not far off from what she does every day!

So here’a thumbs up for Clinique du Parc in Montpellier, for anyone who has to have surgery on his or her back, or any other intervention.

Personally, I’m glad this is all over and I pretty certain papa is getting better because I lie on his head or, anywhere possible.

Yes, Loulou, you have my back, haha.

Papa, shouldn’t you stretch like this?

LOULOU, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST BUT I’M FIRING YOU!

When my mommy was in hospital for pneumonia a couple of years ago she told me the food was pretty good. Not restaurant quality but almost. Things have changed in most hospitals in the US lately as they know that healthy food is good for health. My mommy actually liked eating at the hospital. And the odd thing is that she ate 3 smallish meals a day and lost weight while she was there. At home she is lucky to eat one good meal a day plus healthy snacks and she tends to gain weight. Hospitals are getting smarter nowadays.

Good to know! Luvz, Patzy

The mom remembers when she was in the hospital for her hip surgery and she said the food wasn’t all that great…but better than what she thought it would be. We hope your papa is eating good stuff now. 😉

Well, now that your papa’s back home, I bet your momma will be cookin’ up some of her specialities which are sure to make him feel better and put some weight back on his middle. Hugs.

I have missed reading your blog, Loulou as I have been off travelling. I am sorry to hear that your papa has had to have an op. I hope he gets better soon.

Loulou, I’ll be there to help you amuse Papa – tomorrow night!! The summer has flown by and it has been much cooler here – and the cool weather has got to be a help after surgery! Cooler there? Mama’s not sure what to pack. Layers (light ones, I guess). And the poussette is already in the car – you’ll give it a try? Can’t wait!!!!! XOXO

Loulou, how could you be fired so quickly? You just started your new job.

The hospital food sounds horrible. Must have been hard on two people who enjoy good food. (Your mama seems to be a great cook.) Glad their medical care was much better.

Hospital food is ALWAYS terrible isn’t it. In the UK they have private companies running the cafeterias and the are all about profit.

I’m glad your Dad got good care and that he is feeling better. I don’t think you should work as a physical therapist any longer, you’re better at being a cat – MOL!
