MAMA, WHAT IS THAT CACOPHONY?

Our title translates into Love and Donkeys, and boy, is it an experience!

SO after the antics in the apartment complex where those furry sweeties munched on quite a lot of the vegetation in the lovely garden, they were led back to their pen, across the street from us, and there they stayed peacefully after having stuffed on flowers and parts of trees until penned again.

SO…we started up for beddy-by and mama was about to start reading when a terrible, loud, scary braying started up, three donkeys at once, all hey-hawing like crazy and even I knew it was LOUD.  They sounded as if there could be a bobcat or teasing teen-agers near their pen and mama was really scared.  So she called the famous Luc omce again (the one she called for the earlier garden invasion) at 11:30pm and told him she thought there was a donkey attack going on and what could it be and should she go over to the pen and protect them.

At which he began to laugh hysterically, saying in French (mama conveniently forgot the word) that they were just having a little…er…intimate fun and all of that braying is evidently the sound they make when…er…living it up!  To her credit, mama got the picture pretty fast and responded, “Well, it IS Valentine’s Day, so it all makes sense, haha.”

Those donkeys are evidently randy little devils at certain times, but really, I’ve never heard sounds like that and I hear hee-haws from them daily.  But at least they weren’t in danger.

Far from it, mama said…

Les Ânes et l’Amour :

In French there was a time when we used to say “faire crac-crac”, because of a slightly naughty ad for some crusty bread.

Les ânes, faites crac-crac autant que vous voulez, mais ne réveillez pas les voisins !

LOL – who knew!? Maybe those flowers they got into had some of your catnip mixed in!? Wow! But how appropriate on Valentine’s Day – and such a french way to celebrate. Is that what they call a bunga-bunga party?
