Sun out, little flowers popping up, birdies cheeping, our two love-pigeons chasing each other around my garden, always together. Do pigeons do that? Well, these two do. And more, if you get my drift…this garden has an x-rating lately, haha
And mor arthshaking news from my garden: mama’s upright zucchini plant has two FLOWERS, which means we might have two squash, haha. Hey, any squash in a storm, non? Maybe mama will make one of those wraps again, the one made of long thin strips of squash laid overlapping on a cookie sheet and then brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with parmesan and maybe a few crispy sweet onions and baked until browned and easy to roll up.
AND we have tomatoes!! Finally!

FYI: The latest from our illustrious government.

I am sure more zucchinis will come along soon. I am drowning in them. I made zucchini quiche and a casserole with stuffing. XO
LOVE them just sliced with sweet onion and sautéed until browned, then pour a beaten egg over all and sprinkle with parmesan and cook until set. Invert on a plate if you want to have the tarte looking all crispy.
Those tomatoes look delish!! So bright!
Whenever I grow them (for hubby), the big ugly green tomato worms find them and nosh them all into a barren disaster. I try to pick them off and put them on the bird feeder…for hungry woodpeckers, LOL!
OMC those hornworms…so really wild looking and so AWFUL. Mama used to cut them in half with scissors…..violent woman but she was so miffed at what they do. And there are always TWO.
lou lou, we have mr. and misses lovey dovie in our yard, singing away all dee time. dee mum izza gonna by tomatos today from one ovva owr local grower who haz a stand on dee side of dee road here during dee week.
An probally da bestist mos flaferful two! Lettuce no hos des grows.
The news is always so dreadful, Loulou. At least we have kitties and juicy, delicious tomatoes to keep us sane.
Oui, oui, and let’s hope they keep working….
Those tomatoes look good!
And the were…crisp and sweet and finally, a taste of summer from the garden.
YAY for zucchini and some beautiful tomatoes too! That photo of Loulou in the flower bed is so pretty………..
Hugs, Pam
Well I do come to visit from time to time….they don’t really know when but mama feels that there has been a little visitor because the flowers grow more quickly, haha.
Yum! Fresh garden goodies are the best!
Brian’s Home ~ Forever
They really do have a better flavor and texture and no hornworms here, YAY YAY!!!!
Lovely tomatoes !
Mourning doves, which are sort of our version of your doves, do seem to hang out in pairs, Ours aren;t x-rated, but they seem to be together a lot (there are several pairs around).
Love the dove…they are so sweet and love their little clucks.
A squash wrap, and fresh! Sign me up!
They are such fun to make and so tasty.
Nothing better than fresh veggies from your garden. Delicious.
