The best thing for Social Security would be for some more boomers to join me in choosing not to retire, to preserve the fund for disability pensions at least. Population can’t keep growing. A population that’s not growing can’t continue to make retirees better off than working people. If we all demand our retirement pensions, none of us will get much. If we wait until we’re disabled…
There absolutely IS climate change, though the immediately obvious kind is local not global. Cats and dogs can do something about it…the way they solicit water is so unbearably cute!

She’s gone to where you are and she was the one who really started the custom of Cat Sanctuary cats sharing a bottle of water with their human. At the Cat Sanctuary she never realized how much hotter it is, these days, in the small city below us. It always was a little bit warmer because it was below. Now it’s BEAUCOUP PLUS CHAUD because of too many humans running too many motors, especially heat pumps!
WOW…merci for all of this good information and yes, Social Security is very at risk and being examined by you know who to eventually END it, we are sure. And those who are legally able to make claims now have to go to the SS office to file, which is an outrage when there is not one near to an elderly person who has no car or ability to get to an office. Outrageous, this government taking over our country. We must stand up to it.

Well, sweet Murph, we think a big change is starting with federal judges ruling against the breaker of constitutional laws and even Republicans dismayed with what they are seeing, which is the end of their party possibly.

I commented before but may not have clicked the right things …) As self-employed persons we paid our part of our social security, and an employer’s part too. Now we depend on it. All employers pay a portion of their employees’ social security, so every business should also be upset about any attempt to mess with social security!
YES, they should be upset but………at least some Republicans are fighting back about climate change an some judges are nailing him for outright crime against their judegments.

As self-employed persons, we paid social security not only as working individuals but an employer’s portion on ourselves too. And on our other employees. And of course, like so many others, we depend on it to exist now. Every business that paid a share for their employees should also be outraged.
