Our hearts go out to Texas and the loss of so many. No words suffice for this tragedy.
********
Our spark today is from Victor Hugo:
Adversity makes men, and prosperity makes monsters.”
The United States of America became a nation of people who overcame powerful adversity to create a strong and influential country that would come to the aid of others less fortunate, would strengthen the bonds between countries, would end a World War, would be a model for magnanimity.
No longer.
Prosperity is a two-edged sword indeed and now the government of the “prosperous” wishes only to add to its “prosperity” through the suffering and pain of others.
The word “cruel” is appearing more and more in critic’s articles about T. And even stronger words are surfacing.
A doctor in Gaza has sent a plea to the world about the war that T is supporting through strong ties with Netanyahu. Thank you for reading.
We turned off our phones and computers last night for 30 minutes. This gesture will create a ‘wave’ of people protesting the war and will impact those who created it. We’ll see. One week. Turn off phones and computers. We’ll see what happens.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this flooding. What a terrible tragedy.
And preventable. And Trump has concelled funds to states that will be having troubles. I hope the inhabitants rise up and kick him out.
“War does not determine who is right – only who is left.” Bertrand Russell It’s all too sad for words, Loulou.
Incredible words and so true.”First, they fascinate the fools. Then, they muzzle the intelligent.” Another saying from this wise man. And so many fools are fascinated by this fool.
An incredibly sad situation – there have been monumental losses of lives and homes in the country with the out of control weather here. Perhaps a message that our planet is tired of being taken for granted. It’s so very very sad in any case. We can’t imagine how awful it is for Texas right now.
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
What a wonderful way to say it – our planet is tired of being taken for granted. And now the government help for so many who will need it is OVER! Shameful.
The Texas flooding hits hard, we know water damage and destruction here, too.
My heart aches for our world.
Our aching hearts are with yours, Ms Messymimi, and we will keep calling out the culprits simply because it’s all we can do. Have a good week despite the sadness.
Yes, those floods are horrible and heartbreaking.

Mama’s nephew and niece went to those camps as kids every summer when they visited their grandmama in Texas.
Excellent spark. So sad about the floods.
Just horrific. Those poor kids….

Merci, Ms Mary. We won’t know if it made a demt until the end of the week but thank you.
