Couldm’t resist this wonderful photo that signifies the importance of emancipation.
Today is a national holiday, June Teenth. There may be some who do not know the origin of this very important change in American history, and we are more than thankful for this day of liberation
Ms Richardson’s short video explains all, but did we really turn a page?
Lovely here in our little ville with blackbirds warbling all day long and lemons dropping off our tree. Mama says it’s like an Easter egg hunt because they fall into the rosemary and lavender and are such fun to discover, bright yellow ‘eggs’ of about a pound each!

Mama wishes we could share these with you. I think they will go into limoncello, tarts, lemon curd, preserved lemons and more, but mama uses them in cooking so often that they tend to go quickly.
Any ideas for what to do with lovely lemons? Pass them on, svp!
Uh.. that’s s’il vous pkait, if you please, which I’m sure many know and it’s such a nice phrase. I use it all the time when I don’t wish to be disturbed when I snooze. I have a little sign that I hang on my cloud that says, “Snoozing…svp, do not rock my boat!” Or jar my dreams…
Here is another emancipation story you might enjoy, heh heh…of course we run things. Was that ever doubtful???

I think those lemons would be fun to bat around! ~Murphy
Murphy you could easily have your own lemon…several even.
Lovely lemons, Loulou snoozing and kitties who run the show. Love it all. I like to put a dash of lemon on my avo. Happy June Teenth – such an incredibly important time in history.
Wish we could share and yes, June Teenth or Juneteenth, as some write it, was one of the most important days in history.
Hunting for those beautiful lemons sounds like more fun than looking for Easter eggs. XO
Today mama found FIVE in the rosemary…it IS fun.
Having your own lemon tree is wonderful, I’m sure. Lemons coated in a bit of edible wax or oil and refrigerated can last a long time, I’ve been told.
Sometimes we turn a corner and have to keep walking a long, long time before the corner truly fades from view, but we don’t give up, we keep going.
So true, Ms Messymimi. So true. And merci for the preservation tip. Mama is going to try it!
I love limoncello and lemonade and lemon meringue pie and ice tea with lemon…..need I go on? We had a lovely parade in our little town down Main Street to celebrate Juneteenth.
Hugs, Pam
OH how we wish we could send you come of these giants and how wonderful to have had a Juneteenth parade. Good for West Virginia! Such an important day.
Those lemons are really beautiful!

Merci, Mr T and mama made limoncello yesterday and found five more in the herbs this morning.Wish we could share.
Lemonade ! Lemon Meringue pie ! We love the idea of the daiiy Easter Lemon hunt
Isn’t that fun? Mama found two more today after the wind blew them down. Any ideas that are not sweet are welcome…we’re not big dessert peeps but love lemon pasta, lemon chicken, etc…
Those lemons!!! OMC!
After I have finished with a lemon, before I throw the remains away…Ie after steeping the rind and slices in my water bottle, I can still use it to get stains off my counter and even off my fingers! The aroma of lemon is also so ‘yummy’! I wonder if it has medcinal properties??
Oh, yes, great for colds and coughs and such and what a great idea…stain remover!!! Maybe mama will put a few sunlight streaks in her hair….
