I don’t really have to hide, but sometimes I do like a little visit to the wild arugula.
Well, having visitors is just so much FUN. Mama’s mind was on so many other wonderful things happening while her dear, dear friends were here that she just let Tuesday slip by…so easy to do when you having lively days like these. And now the friends are off to a neighborhood village to see the art museum, but mama had to work on her pathetic winter garden, a little starved for care and no broad beans planted yet!
They did try a new resto, as the French call it, but mama’s sweet friend had to suffer through COLD scallops in a NOWHERE sauce! So much for that place. The guy who owns it has bought SIX restos in our area and he had better get his act together…
To be fair, one of his restos has the best French fries in the world, so maybe he’ll get his act together in the others.
Off to clean up mama’s garden by…uh…watering… the roses and sending good thoughts while she sweeps up a gazillion strawberry-tree fruit on the patio!
Still, that tree gives such nice shade in summer, you just can’t fault it.😍
And now we will remain “wordless”, haha. Not easy for mama…
Have a way-out Wednesday and let us know how yours was.
Kittchen tip: When your mayonnaise jar, bottle, whatever, is empty, use the miniscule mayo, add 6 parts oil to 1 part vinegar, a crushed garlic clove and salt to taste for a perfect salad dressing with a little zip.

Glad your family is having a good time with friends, but what a bummer to have a lousy meal…
GHood idea for the salad dressing!
It really is a good dressing, even for those who do not like mayo that much. It’s just a little zing to the oil and vinegar. Mama’s dressings are simple, oil and vinegar, salt and a little garlic in the salad. No one ever knows….
It’s so lovely to have good friends visit, Loulou! Your mama must enjoy every moment, and thanks for the salad dressing tip – sounds delicious.
They are such lively intelligent and inspiring humans and we laugh a lot … and eat together, always talking about food!
Visitors are a delight and a distraction, but so worth it.
I appreciate the tip about the mayonnaise.
These two are a Renaissance couple. They have cooked for the Dalai Lama (!) just to name one…..
Thanks for the recipe. We still have lettuce in our garden because my hubby covers it and puts a light on underneath to keep it warm. XO
OH, sigh, to have lettuce in November! Your hubby is amazing.
That’s a great kitchen tip, we’ll have to try that!
Brian’s Home ~ Forever
Gives the dressing a little extra something…
COLD scallops ? Our huMom is not a very picky eater, but even she would draw the line at that !
Well, they were AWFUL but last night we made up for it with fish and the best chips on earth at another little cafe–get this: owned by the SAME man. He’d better get his act together soon…
Glad your Mama and Papa enjoyed their visiting friends…too bad that restaurant was a big ZERO! When it comes to good food I think your Mama has any “resto” around there beat……
Hugs, Pam
AWWW…that made mama smile and I’m sure you know, too, that home is where the health is and the hearth and the most tasty meals of all.
