Pondering my well-being and mindfulness.

Well, mama and papa love our vet, actually even I love our vet, because she is gentle and kind and tells me how svelte I am looking (sometimes) and her shots do not hurt, and she always say how lucky mama and papa were to find ME, but mama has some questions about me that need answers from REAL anthros who have kitties and who maybe have run into the same questionable behaviour and afflictions that I appear to display.

If you have a minute, could you share your pearls of wisdom with her?  Whatever those are…

  • I have what we think is either tiny white  gravel in my fur from rolling on our tiny rocks in the garden, or I have…er…the unmentionable, dandruff.
  • I eat olive oil every day and my coat is sleek and brushed and the little white things are not alive, haha, so…?
  • I also eat grass outside, my cat grass from a cat grass box (now over) and grass mama had planted for me with cat grass seeds.
  • And I drink from the bird bath (always clean every day–I drink about twice a day or maybe three times but I won’t touch my own water inside).  Is all of this normal? Am I drinking too much?  I’m supposed to have about a cup a day and I don’t drink that much and mama is not going to force-water me!!!
  • My…er…besoins (French for poo) are regular and in good shape, whatever that is…let’s just say Tootsie Rolls and forget the rest.

Am I okay?  I think we are visiting you know who this week so we’ll have a confirm on this, but mama does love info from you all out there, and maybe the Great Swampi has some ideas.  So, thank you for listening, haha.

On another note, so to speak, there is a BIRDIE outside who has a one-note act that is driving us ALL nuts.  Peep, peep, peep, no inflections, no sing-song like the merles and really LOUD just before dawn!!! Any idea what he/she might be?  I’ll ask the neighbour when he finally wakes up…we were up with the birdie before FIVE! Peep, peep, peep…

LouLou – someone mentioned a fountain, and that is also a good idea. Many kitties like to drink running water.

Young birds that have just fledged will peep too, and follow their parents around still wanting to be fed. The parents try to avoid them (does this sound like a certain age of anthros ?) So you might see teen-age birds and not just babies making a lot of noise !

Well, asked mama and she’s no help. Her cat, Sassy (also known fondly as Assassin because of her temperament) was white, so she wouldn’t have noticed white flakes. But i see mama googling now…..

Oh LouLou, dat last foto is purriceless. MOL But we always think you look just gawjus. Sis Dezi has those white things, and had been diagnosed with allergies. Da allergy meds didn’t work, but she did have dry skin too. Mommy used a humidifier which helped her a lot. Altho’ it didn’t get rid of da white bits in her furs. A kitty can never get too much water. Dat’s one of da reasons dry kibble isn’t good fur kitties. It dries them out and they don’t drink enuff to replenish. So long as da bird bath be clean, it’s okay to drink from it, but maybe ya’ might try a fountain fur da house. On da drinkin’ too much note, a kitty dat be sick and drinkin’ too much is one dat drinks every few minutes. Sis Lexi did dat in da end. Also da pee piddles will be huge and more offen. Fur the most pawrt you sound healthy. Olive oil in small amounts are okay fur a kitty, but you might be gettin’ too much. Another reason fur dandruff is when da skin is too oily. Anyways, hope your visit goes well. Big hugs

Luv ya’

I think you may have dandruff. Are you able to reach all the spots on your back when you clean yourself? My Sammy is a big boy and can’t reach so he tends to have dandruff in the part he can’t reach.
Cats do seem to prefer a drink from certain spots. As long as you drink some tell your Mama not to worry. It is when you drink too much that can be a sign of diabetes of kidney issues.

Hmmm, you have Swampi stumpted. Only white things we can think of would be flea eggs but we know you don’t have fleas, Loulou. Your mama sees to that. It will be enligtening to learn what that stuff is.

Hmmmm I am not sure what that is but am hoping you are ok! As for the birdies, we had a bunch here too that were driving me nuts! I think they were babies and they didn’t stop “peeping” all day!

Loulou, we think you’re totally normal. Some cats don’t like the typical water dish and prefer more unique ways to get their hydration.
