Polly and William in their magical palm forest.

Well, just because it is so beautiful and because many of you love poetry, mama wanted me to put this poem in my blog today, and then we will all move on, with sweet thoughts of Polly alongside us whenever we want them.

TO PAULA IN LATE SPRING  by W.S. Merwin
Let me imagine that we will come again

when we want to and it will be spring

we will be no older than we ever were

the worn griefs will have eased like the early cloud

through which the morning slowly comes to itself

and the ancient defenses against the dead

will be done with and left to the dead at last

the light will be as it is now in the garden that we have made here

these years together of our long evenings and astonishment

And I am so sad for Socks from ATCAD.  I read his post every day to know about his life.  I will miss Socks so much…

Such a beautiful tribute. It’s difficult to add sad, because Polly would want to be remembered with smiles, I am sure. As we all would. But that’s the hard part for those who are left – to not let the sadness interfere with the joy and beauty of the lives of those we love who have passed.

A lovely poem. Is Polly your papa’s sister?

We remember Socks from so many years ago when he and Angel Momo were a couple and they had so many blogging adventures. He will definitely be missed!

Such fine words, in deed, and a fine garden to dream and reminisce and to live in. I write with tears in my eyes, for dear Socks and hope that all pals will meet again over the Bridge. Purrs,
Erin
