The State We Are In

Should one of us kitties or doggies run for a government position and make sure whoever is president keeps on her toes?  I vote for Marcus…he speaks Goose and we’re going to need him if that other goose is electe

FIRST: Obama’s achievents since 2009

I read a lot.  I read with mama and I read on my kitty kindle and I’m beginning to wonder just how we got where we are, when we are choosing a president because he’s a good talk show host.  When we are actually accepting a candidate who is not only a liar about his own life, assets, taxes, successes (they weren’t), and so many other subjects that come up when Trump is questioned.  When we are really thinking that integrity does not matter, that intelligence does not matter, that consciousness of other countries’ cultures and beliefs does not matter, that even basic manners do not matter:  we just saw a film on Trump in which he is with a major talk show host and says, “Please don’t get too near me as we speak because your breath is terrible.  Hasn’t anyone ever told you?”

Mr. Trump, you are a boor.

Can you envision a leader of ANY worth saying something like that to ANYONE?

I, Loulou, am unable to believe that our country has become clay in the hands of a very bad sculptor.  Where are our minds, for heaven’s sake?  Where is our reasoning?  What on earth are we teaching in our schools that people can no longer think for themselves and as Kennedy said, when he signed the bill of Equal Rights, abolishing separate black and white restaurants, lavatories, hotels and schools forever,  “I am doing this not because of politics, but because it is the right thing to do.” He then cited our Constitution.

Which does not ask that we build walls between us and our neighbors, between us and those from other cultures.  America would be NOTHING without immigrants.

Do we not know any longer what is right?  Do we watch too many asinine talk/reality shows that have nothing to do with reality but only engender fear–fear that at our borders, at our doors, are those who wish to rape and pillage, who wish to KILL YOU. Insanity.  This is absurd, but it is what a large number of Americans hear on the radio, on TV, on their cell phones and IPads, that someone is OUT TO GET YOU and it won’t be pretty.  More absurdity.

We have to start THINKING about what is right, for you, for those around you, for everyone, for all races and creeds, and most of all, we really have to give up being governed by fear.  Especially fear of those things that are not fearsome at all, but instead enrich our lives.  The one thing I fear now is that an individual like Trump might be MY president.  Now THAT is something to fear.

It is fear that is changing us into followers instead of thinkers.  Follow a person who is only out for No. 1, not for enriching your life.  Who deep down, if only one could get there and look, has no moral sense at all nor respect for human kind.

It is really unbelievable.

I may lose readers right and left, but as Clark Gable said to the petulant, spoiled, self-centered Scarlett O’Hara, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

And remember that what others think of you is none of your business.  I love that (thank you, 98-year-old lovely woman who said it first).

This really wears me out.  I keep promising to give it up, but who can stand by when our country is in real trouble?

I PROMISE—NO MORE TRUMP!

Tomorrow–the open markets of France! How’s that for a new subject?  And both Democrats and Republicans benefit from them.

We aren’t really into discussions about politics (although we really do care who is in office). We respect your opinions and your right to express them. As Southern kitties, we’ll just say, “I’ll think about that tomorrow.”

A Trump rant is fine by us. Our mom is too chicken to do one, but is happy to jump on your bandwagon. The stupidity of that buffoon and those who follow him is truly unbelievable. Mom is so sad that one of her best friends is a follower. The man totally scares us. If he becomes President, it will be like sailing on the Titanic. He is going to sink America. Loulou, we don’t blame you for covering your eyes. You might want to stick a couple paws in your ears as well. You need to stand up and speak when your feelings are strong. If people don’t agree that’s fine. If we all agred th world might be a quieter, but also a less colourful place.

We respect your views (we find the gentleman a bit worrying but englan has a greedy rich man in charge so what do we know *g*). If you couldn’t speak up with world would be a poor er place!

Go for it!

Why don’t you run, Loulou? We would vote for you.

Purrsonally, we think a lot of people are caught up in the celebrity-ness of Trump and that’s why they support him.

MOL Oh LouLou, me stays away from pawlotics cuz it is such a slippery slope and we have religious beliefs dat make our view somewhat unpawpular. Our country has been goin’ downhill fur generations and da fact dat Obama has held 2 terms is more proof of where our country is. And we speak against him not because of the color of his skin, but because of his beliefs and how he has tried to turn our country upside down acting like a king instead of a servant. At the end of the day, our founding fathers intended for the government to serve the people and not the other way around. They were tired of tyranny and rulers. But alas…Enuff pawlotics

You look so adorable. Hope you have a great weekend.

Luv ya’
