Well, papa has been very involved lately in news about the new head of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, which, until this recent election, has been run by a crook, Mr. Blatter, now in turmoil over over the selling of the 2018 World Cup to Russia and the 2022 Word Cup to Abu Dhabi after having taken bribes from each country. Well, it works, no? Money is money, but he denies everything. Now he is banned from soccer for six years.
From a dawn raid at a five-star hotel to a man hurling stacks of money at Sepp Blatter, the FIFA scandal has had it all. Here’s a look at how the story began, and where it may go.
The United States did not ‘win’ the 2018 World Cup venue because it was beat out of the game by Russia, who said it was all ‘political’, when in fact it was all about money and who would pay the most. Bribery is usually against the law in the United States of America, but there was a handful of culprits from the US, too, whose associations with FIFA were definitely questioned.
Bribery is evidently not against the law in Russia or Abu Dhabi…

We are talking about a game that we in this household adore. We love the players, we root for Totti, the Italian hero, and all the other amazingly talented teams, the English, the Spanish, the many wonderful squads from every country who play their hearts out twice a week for fans who sometimes give their last dime for a ticket. Soccer scores goals in so many hearts.
How sad to discover that the official Federation that oversees the game nationally to be rotten throughout, with still more arrests to come.
But new guidelines have come out of all the red cards given.
All salaries will be disclosed, while a limit of four years has been placed on a president’s term.
A new council to replace the current executive committee has also been introduced, featuring a female representative from each confederation.
Greg Dyke, who will cast a vote as chairman of the English Football Association, says the reforms are “more important” than the new leader as it will provide an “opportunity for Fifa to start again”.
And maybe, just maybe, the soccer world will realize again what it means to be on the ball.
Now if they would just ban gambling ads between matches…

OMC We’s not really know much about sports LouLou. Bein’ a house full of girlys, well…we just purrfur other ventures. But it is sad to hear dat bribery is still alive and well in sports. We really thought all of those peeps was crooked, but one can hope, right? Maybe da new rules and such will be a good thing and help keep it on da up and up.
