Which meant to me and mama that to be friends with one’s conscience is a step in a very interesting direction, because we will always meet up with queries and quandaries that need help from our conscience.
We have a built-in Jiminy Cricket (a disney name given to him) that either becomes our close friend or is put on a back burner, as was The Cricket when rejected by Pinocchio who disagrees with the cricket’s advice to him to get his act together and is crushed by a mallet thrown at him by Pinocchio. Which is to say, a conscience will definitely call upon you during your life and you can welcome it or disdain/crush it.
In our present governent, for example, the word, it seems, hardly surfaces as a tool for any decision-making,
Such a pitiful crew, unconscionable is the word we would choose to describe this motley group…
