Thanks for this news! Because everyone all over Rome is on a computer, mama couldn’t get my photo to come up in my blog! Well, you know what I looked like, right?
As mama re-writes this, white smoke is issuing from the Sistine Chapel, as Pope Leone XIV has been chosen and bells are ringing all over Rome. Very exiting, mama says, and I took a little fly-over there to see the faces in the crowd light up as the smoke emerged. So many pilgrims waiting outside the Vatican. Thousands,
Let us hope he will do good deeds as did Francesco. He certainly looks kind and is known to have a very good heart and wants only peace for the world and wishes to work for that.
And, as always we are thankful for you, dear readers, who put up with mama’s gaffs: in today’s no-photo space, and in the walk around Rome photos, that was NOT the stock exchange but only another view of the Pantheon! Mama’s looking for her photo of the stock exchange, which is very beautiful. Here are a few more glimpses into Roman life.
A view from a bar high up on a hotel at campo de’ fiori, the lovely market piazza where you can find everything from food to funnels, ham to hats and more.

And this little kitty on on a building around the corner where Berlusconi had his wild bunga bunga parties.

We are especially thankful that so many politicians and others are examining the antics of T in order to nail him.

Loulou, Mom can hardly believe that an American was elected as the next Pope. It is not something she ever expected to see in her life time. Here is praying he can be a good Pope for the people. At his young age, he could be Pope for a very long time. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
A friend of mama’s who is a journalist was at the audience with Leone IV yesterday and says that he will be an historical Pope. Really wonderful!!!! Perhaps he was chosen to lead billions toward peace, truth and freedom for all.
We are hopeful that Pope Leo will continue the work of Pope Francis!
Oui, and we believe he will!
That view is incredible, Loulou – such a beautiful city. I hope your mama is having lots of fun in Rome.
Merci, Ms Militza, and yes, a magnificent city and now so thrilled with Leone XIV!
I am a bit surprised it went so fast. May he be a good man as well as a good Pope.
We were surprised, too. Perhaps the cardinals were anxious to get a loving human being in place to counteract the menace to the world of the USA president.
I was surprised and pleased with their choice. XO
We, too, were so glad.
We were watching the new Pope come on on the TV, he has a very nice smile.

Oui, we love his smile, too, and his little crinkly nose and the kindness emanating from him. He speaks five languages.
First American pope – Loved seeing the joy on his face and the faces of all who were there to see the white smoke.
Hugs, Pam
Oui, it was so moving and lovely and so is Leone XIV! We hope so much that he will counterbalance the cruelty and horror of T.
Sounds like the new Pope has similar viewpoints to the prior one and is a very good person, so that is really great news, Loulou! Charming views of Rome! I especially enjoyed the kitty on the building!
Merci, Ms Leah and yes that kitty is a nice touch but poverino, so worn out, haha.
