Thanks For So Much

Dec 26, 2024 | 20 comments

OMC, not enough room for thanks, yet again!

But here’s one for sure.

We are so thankful for a very quiet Christmas. Often we are with our family in Italy, which is always a treat, but we heard from papa’s ex, mama’s good friend, that she asked for a ride home around 3 in the morning!!!!

Gadzooks.

I think they start around 6:30 and play Tombola, a kind of bingo that is really fun, and then there are killer margaritas and starters and the main dinner and then present-giving and opening and before you know it, THREE IN THE MORNING.

Oh, well, it is lots of fun but…a nice quiet dinner was also a treat because our guest was a friend who is just about to get out permanently from a rehab where she has repaired her shattered shoulder.

It’s an amazing place, near our little village, that is PRIMO in rehab care for injuries.  And the food is good, too.

Our guest, who is also a neighbor, was sprung for Christmas Eve and day and she’ll be out for good tomorrow. YEA! Back on our street where there will be a street gathering on Saturday.

I shall report from my vantage point.

Mama is making black-eyed peas and cornbread so that everyone will have good luck (and fortune) in 2025.

I told mama she was jumping the gun a bit, but I think those peas  will work this close to New Year’s. Crossed paws.

And I’m thankful for all the boxes from Christmas that you kitties can play in on Boxing Day!!! And of course thankful for YOU.

And we love this Blogosphere poster!!!! Love their artists.

Mercy, I’m not up for 3am celebrating, either. I get up at 4 to go to work most days.

The black-eyed peas and cornbread sounds great, don’t forget cabbage to go with it (a nice cole slaw does the trick), they say that’s for green (money).

Well just hearing about that Christmas celebration made my Mom tired! HAHA She and Dad used to stay up until midnight but never any parties – just a private one with them having a bottle of champagne and watching a Christmas movie (they have tons of them!)…..We think it’s wonderful people celebrate occasions in MANY ways and lots of time it’s tons of fun. We’re just happy we had a nice Christmas and the new Year will be super quiet for the three of us. Sending you hugs from QUIET Warrenton, Virginia!!!

Love, Teddy
