This is Splash from Lunapic, but I couldn’t get wet enough to feel COOL!
IT IS SO HOT HERE! Mama felt that my Saturday art should be cool and calm to offset the temp here. Even the sea is warm so it’s possible that mama will put her toes in soon.
When you grow up swimming in a bathtub (the Gulf of Mexico), mama says, your body has difficulty getting used to anything under 25C/77F!
And yet, we have a dear friend from long ago visiting our little village, and she swims in San Franisco bay morning and night! And of course, she swims here, too, although this heat is making life a bit uncomfortable for her. And for the tourists, I’m sure…
Still, our friend’s recipe for refreshing one’s spirit— a slice of lemon, a slice of cucumber, a little mint, frozen in the bottom of a glass and then served with water poured over it— is one of summer’s best coolers!
Stay cool, everyone, and do drink enough water if it is hot where you live. Water is the key to staying safe during heat spells.

Oh Loulou both of your photos today are fab but that “SPLASHY” one is amazing…..I bet you would enjoy floating in a nice cool pool – I know I would. It’s been super duper hot here too and we need rain…lots of it!

We love you art, but are sorry it didn’t cool you off. It has been terribly hot here as well. We had 98 % humidity all day yesterday, but only thunder and no rain. Thankfully we got some rain this afternoon and tonight. It cools it off a bit. Love the second photo as well. You always have the best expressions on your face. Sounds perfect! We are lucky to have it too. Others have to worry a bit in very hot places but drink LOTS of water.
That cooler does sound good LouLou ~ it is surprising what a slice of cucumber can add.
We heard on the news that some parts of the Atlantic are 91 F !
The cukes are nice on the eyes, too!
