Artful Monitoring

Jun 18, 2022 | 24 comments

Well, for my Saturday art I am showing you my White Badge of Courage which was GLUED to me yesterday (that same “me” having been shaved nude in the area!) to monitor my glucose for two weeks, whatever that means…

I have been told (but it’s probably hearsay) that this little disc will drop off in two weeks of its own accord. HAH!

I’ll believe that when I see it on the floor instead of on my precious little bod!

So, that’s all the news fit to print, folks. Saturday’s sharing…

Jabbed with arthritis pain manager, sporting my new, chic badge, hey, what more can any kitty ask, haha?

But being at a vet—–

—and who was this dude anyway? Just because he was black and white, he came over to chat. No way, Jose. I don’t talk to total strangers!

I’m now sulking under a piece of furniture and glowering at THEM.

Still, I know it’s for my own good but a convenient glower keeps them in line, haha.

And for a great article from the NYT…

If you can’t open it, I’ll send it to anyone interested. It’s about the insect-repelling qualities of catnip and siver vine and that kitties protect themselves from insects by rubbing it on their bodies! Maybe it would work for mama, haha. Although they tend to bite papa, not mama.

Maybe she’s too ornery, haha.

We have fresh nip growing wildly in our yard…yup, left overs from our kitty years…so maybe instead of giving it to the neighbor’s kitty, I shall use it my self! OMC!

That kind of implanted glucose monitor is becoming quite common for the humans, and now it seems for furry ones too. Way better than all those pricks to check the blood glucose levels. I sure hope it works well for you!

I m happy to read that your arthritic ouchies are abating too. Wow, wish Pipo could have benefited from that, back in the day…

We think you are furry courageous indeed – and you don’t need a badge to prove it!
It’s a pity you can’t push the button and have them bring treats on demand, though.

Now – there’s a thought…

Bummer that you have to wear that but we hope it does what it’s supposed to (and falls off when it should).

Well Loulou you look like you’re all kitted out with a monitor to make sure your glucose is in range and a shot for pain and we are hoping that the fact you’re acting like you feel better is a FOR REAL thing that stays! Pain makes us cranky and not want to eat and we don’t want that any more than our humans do so here’s to all of this working for you dear friend…..!!

Hugs, Teddy

Loulou, our cat blog friend I Have Three Cats: http://ihavethreecats.blogspot.com/
also had a glucose monitor attached to a kitty, and I believe I’ve read that they are developing a somewhat permanent one (like the one that humans use!).
No one likes to have a prick to get a drop of blood to test, especially a kitty.
Enjoy being home again, Loulou.
