Matzah Luck

Mar 29, 2021 | 20 comments

Well, I am embarrassed to say that I completely forgot that Passover was Saturday, so happy Pasach from all of us.  In Los Angeles, mama and papa used to bake very large matzah crackers for Passover seders, and when the bakers were first introduced to making matzah, they were stunned to hear mama’s instructions: everything had to be mixed, rolled out and then rolled again with the spiky tool that keeps the cracker from rising, and all had to be done in less than 18 minutes, by Jewish law.

But the bakers were wonderful and went at it with so much enthusiasm that the matzah came out perfect and was actually edible, haha.  I’m joking, as a really good matzah tastes wonderful with a little salt sprinkled over it before baking.

So forgive us for forgetting such an important holiday.

HOW DID I FORGET? Don’t tell me it’s age, okay?

My Mom and Dad say they’ve never had matzah before but it sounds really delicious. My Mom said she thought guacamole would be a mighty nice accompaniment with those nice big crackers too!!

Hugs, Teddy

Well not so many – they were all meeting there to go to the synagogue! Last year we heard music – but this year was silent. Mamma, Papa and me – we like the music!!!

Chag Pesach! I did not know about the 18 minute rule.

Our human sometimes eats “lightly salted” rice cakes. She likes them, but what she really likes is “salt bagels.” Not that her blood pressure needs any.
