LOULOU, DO NOT LICK YOUR CHOPS OVER A POOR LITTLE CANARY!

Well, mama’s friend, Aunty Lynne, from up the street (down the street?) is taking off today for the Canary Islands after having found a very good price on plane tickets.  But this is what I have to know:

Are there canaries all over the place flapping around and dive-bombing the tourists?  Or do they just sit on branches and sing their little hearts out.   And are they all yellow?  Or rainbow colors?  Ah, the things we don’t know around here…

But just a couple of days ago, a tiny birdie flew into Aunty Lynne’s HAIR at our little seaside bar, possibly because it had fallen from its nest –  the birdie, not her hair.  And she held it in her hand and spoke to it for a few minutes and it didn’t move at all, just listened, I think.  Lynne thought it might not even know how to fly yet!

Then she opened her hand and it took off up into a date palm nearby.  So we hope he/she is okay – the birdie, AND Lynne.  Mama is going to go there today and ask around.  Mama thinks it was a little bon voyage for the Canary Islands trip!

BOY, the excitement in this tiny ville!

I love the idea of a “Bon voyage” for the trip to Canary Islands.

Once in Geneva, a swan about to land nearly scratched my head. Wow!

Ooooh – this sounds like a fabulous trip. And the little bird story is so sweet – and a happy ending! We went to Blue Beach last night to celebrate your mama’ birthday (in spirit, since we’re 5 hours away!) and they served chips with mama and papa’s drinks and the pigeons were waiting for a chip to drop. I chewed on my rawhide bone and just watched, but I am totally harmless around birds! But they didn’t know that, teehee. Wishing for Lynne a SUPER FUN TIME!!!!!!!

Ummm – LouLou – the Canary Islands are named for DOGS. From the Latin root word for dog “canis”- and where the English word canine comes from. So while I think Auntie Lynne’s hair is safe, YOU might want to stay home ! Purrs.

That is a cute little birdie and an island just for canaries sounds cool.
