Well, mama and papa just saw a movie called I, Tonya, about that incredible skater whose boyfriend and HIS friend plotted to damage Tonya’s competitor for the Olympic skating team. Tonya supposedly knew nothing about it, but they all were fined and the two guys were sent to prison but the worst was that the judge ordered that Tonya could never skate again in competitions and it just about ruined her life. Hey, breaking someone’s KNEECAP ruins a life, too, no?
What I want to know is where did they find that incredible actress who could also SKATE like crazy? Maybe it was done with computers but I don’t think so.
Anyway, I watched, and the movie was very well made, but I am pretty sure that tonight mama and papa are going for Wonder Woman or Blade Runner or Downsizing, haha. Mama and papa’s little grandson told them yesterday that he was going to see Downsizing so maybe they’ll see it in solidarity, whatever that is. When they called him to say hello (he’s in Italy and only 12 but…), this unknown young man picked up the phone and in a voice that was in his toes said, “Ah, ciao, granpap e Sussu!” WHERE did that VOICE COME FROM?
And then his mama got on the phone and she and mama said, “Oh, it’s so sad–he is becoming a young man, where did childhood go?” And I think mama and papa wished they could have been around more often to see these kids get bigger, but everyone was spread out over two countries. Still…
Those grown up little anthros are so nice to me now. NO tail-puling, no following me under the bed to torment me, and now they are so good at snuggles and cuddles.
Growing up can’t be all bad.

Oh that is a relief that the little “anthros” have outgrown their wanting to pull your tail and stuff! I hope you didn’t loose any furrs or get a crink in your tail back when they were tail pulling! Hugs!

I didn’t want to see the movie because I remember quite vividly when it happened and I don’t think Tonya Harding should be promoted anymore from it and I am praying she receives no royalties from it!

The mom remembers the whole sordid skating story. In fact, it happened at the competition that was in our city. It was a crazy time.
WOW, you guys were THERE! Very strange story. And very unhappy. Mama and papa and I just saw another movie that was pretty weird, too. I’ll report on it later.
EEK – Mama remembers the knee-capping episode. The punishment was indeed rough for Tonya – but bet it taught her to pick better boyfriends in the future!! And Poor Nancy of the Wounded Knee – ruined her career for sure. A lose-lose situation for everyone. SO, Loulou, choose your suitors carefully. Mama tells me I did good with the westie whose anthro owns the wine store. hmmmm, you think the wine thing might have something to do with that!?
Oh,Mya, Wounded Knee, indeed. You make us all laugh in the morning. The Wine Westie was a GOOOOD choice, that’s for sure. My love of my life lives too far away to find out what he’s plotting, but I’m sure his plots are mostly about how to get more balls to chase.
We said we’d love to have a cat balcony (we don’t have the right windows either) and Jan gasped, saying, “There’s no top to that balcony!” You mean we could escape? But we don’t want to.
It doesn’t pay to break anyone’s kneecap. Or nose. Humans need to learn to stop resorting to violence.

Oh, when are the figure skating competitions? I haven’t asked mama to show me the schedule but we all LOVE them!
